Angry In need of help! Troubleshooting!

Long racing story short...I'm sitting on the side of the highway 694 & 35w waiting for the tow truck.

There was a loud "pffsssttt" then the engine died and I eventually made it to the side of the highway.

The engine starts up, 2-3 seconds later, it just dies. Trying to get the engine stable using the throttle is useless. The engine sounds awful, its really rough.

Help me guys, insights and thoughts?!

Re: In need of help! Troubleshooting!

I would check for a major boost leak. Like a blown Off pipe or coupler. That would explain the loud poof and the stalling .

Make sure your timing is still OK and dont crank the engine over anymore until your positive that is good otherwise you might things worse. Then check for boost leaks eletrical to the MAS etc.

Let me guess you have a dark color 2G W/ rims... Me and my friend(SleepyDSM) were going to main street and saw you on the side of the road we were gonna turn around but the girl we were with said NO. But now I wish we could of stoped and helped. But if I had to say anything Id say a boost leak.

Yeah, that was me. My initial thought was a blown ic pipe, I've had that happen before. I checked every ic connection, but everything as far as ic piping goes, looks fine. If it was a blown pipe, I would have been able to modulate it some what. I believe its more serious than that.

It is sitting in my garage. It starts up, sometimes it will struggle to idle for the a second or two, but never the less just dies. A blip of the throttle revs it for the moment, let go of that very blip and try to blip it again, results in no response from the engine...just dies.

My brother in law thinks there is a relay or something that is messed up due to the fact that the car will start but just won't stay running. I think, its more serious than that.

Please more insights and ideas.

Like Peter mentioned. Check your timing marks before you do anything else.

I will also agree and pound this a little deeper .
Check the physical cam/crank timing before you attempt to crank it further. Check for fluid leaks, there could be very very serious mechanical problems that you might be taking further.
Once that has been okay'd, check for boost leaks/spark issues/blown turbo/etc.
Best of luck.
