Fuel Pump install

I was installing my walbro today and I was relieving the pressure in the fuel system, took the cap off, etc.. I was going to start it and wait for it to stall and kill it. But my car didnt start, its been sitting for a week so do you think my fuel system was already "relieved" or should I keep trying to crank it over?

Also, my fuel pump cover is really caked with dirt, should I blow that all off before pulling it?

Re: Fuel Pump install

yes, your fuel system is probly relieved if its been sitting for a week. Ususally they don't stay pressurized for more than a day..... and yeah, clean that cap off, cause that cap can be a pain to pull out, and any crud on that cap will end up in your gas tank other wise....
