I am just wondering how much can the stock bottom end can handle? Being I dont have much time to put my car together,I am thinking of just going with the stocker until I Get to GA then build the motor.

GT40(possibly) about 20-24#
smim

3" turbo back
frontmount

Re: Stock Block

Depends on the tuning I am pretty sure on the cars.

The weak point on the 91 motor is going to be the piston itself.

There is no "known" limit of what the motor's can take, but a general rule of thumb is about 450whp on the stock short block, but you will almost definitely need at the very least a set of ARP head studs.

Maniac, I thought you were going to put on a Holset; I was kinda looking forward to the results of it.

Re: Stock Block

You won't need 1000cc injectors for that turbo nor for a stock engine's limits. But I would say 500whp-ish on a stock 6 bolt should be a pretty comfortable #.

Re: Stock Block

HAHA Yeah I am having mixed thoughts...as far as the turbo,I might try two diff setups GT40 & Holset. If I have enough time I'll build the bottom end and push the holset to see what its capable of,hopefully more than 500.

Till then.....

Re: Stock Block

Are you talking about a real GT40 or a "GT40"-61mm turbo? Just set a realistic goal, and get one turbo that works around that goal instead of buying twice. Just my .02.

Re: Stock Block

I recalculated my finances and looks like Im sticking with my Holset....AGAIN lol
My goals are around 475-500awhp. I figure I have all of the supporting mods so I should be near my goal.
