??

It's already modded, just not to any real gain... That aside, my dad doesn't give a damn as long as it stays drivable, and my mom has no say in what goes on in the garage.

You know, I've got a lot more things to take care of on this damn car before I even start putting money into making it faster. Two wheel bearings are bad, one of which is probably a week or so from failing, but I can't afford to fix it, so all I can do is pray it doesn't send me into another car or the wall when it locks up on the highway... And besides that, there's a slowly growing puddle of oil on the cardboard I park over, the source appearing to be where the head meets the block on the front left of the motor, so I've probably got a bad head gasket if not a cracked block now. And to top that off, the new clutch is slipping, because a couple assholes on here told me it was perfectly fine to boost on it during break-in as long as I didn't launch it.

So no, the car's not ready for any more than stock power. Deal with it.

And I've got a question for you, Jake. Where does a kid fresh out of HS get the money for an Evo?

Are you sure the leak isn't from a crack in the valve cover, the drain hole in the valve cover or spray from dipstick? All of which are common causes for oil over there.

Yes, you shouldn't boost, launch or shift quick on a new clutch if it's an organic disc. But if it wasn't/isn't adjusted right that is a more likely cause of slipping. Or if the rear main or tranny is leaking oil onto the disc. Or the clutch is just to weak for your power. Even if you aren't the nicest to a new clutch, they usually don't fail right away.

Valve cover leaks a small amount from that corner, but the oil on the block is fresh, versus the oil on the head that is not, so that would rule out the drain as well. I've also never blown out the dipstick.

Disc is kevlar, and they're more prone to glazing. It once held 13 psi in all gears, now it won't hold anything above 10. So I'd say a 2100lb clutch that isn't holding even 200ft-lb at the crank is cooked.

Febo, it's both fronts that are bad. I already had to do both rears this past fall.

Which two? If its rears dont worry about it if its steers then thats bad.

Puddles of Oil are a DSM marking its territory, no matter where it comes from. I doubt you have a cracked block, and why dont you get in there and clean it super good, then check again in a few days, maybe its coming from the VC.

and when you get some time, pull that clutch and deglaze it, it should still be good

Also, dont hate the player, hate the game.

actually i didnt know that, the only thing i remember you saying was that you blew your radiator hose when you looked at emily's facebook.

before you jump to conclusions about your block being cracked why dont you get a new VC gasket and give that a shot, unless your too busy at your high stress, long shift job... ..oh wait.

It were these "ass holes" faults? or was it the kid who DROVE the car?
for the record my car saw boost during break-in, just not in 1st gear or a full pull.

I wasnt fresh out of highschool when i got my Evo, i got it mid Junior year DURING highschool. How did i afford it?

working at innovative audio since 9th grade, and by junior year i was head installer and shop manager, making $500-$800 a week while in school. Thats also what baught me my own 2g DSM, which i paid for, unlike yourself. And around summer of sophmore year i got into a program with a neutraceutical company called Eniva, who now sends me commision checks everymonth for $600-$800 dollars.

hrm.. Looks like I make enough to buy my own things, how much have you made this year spaz? did you pay for your car, clutch, or school? like those of us who make money..

Thanks for reminding me about the hose. It hasn't blown yet, it's just ready to. So that's another thing I've got to take care of.

The car never saw any boost in first gear, never went through any full pulls. The shifting was probably a bit rough, but I was more afraid of slipping it than I was of shocking it.

And fair enough on working during high school. I only chose to work summers and concentrate on school during the rest of the year, considering I was taking accelerated and AP classes to better prepare myself for college and not just floating along with the easy shit.

And for the record, I made around $4000 in the first 7 months of this year, the first 5 of which were spent working only two days a week at minimum wage, again, due to school.

And it was above the belt at the beginning? Oh, that's right, the belt's attached the pants that sit around every member's ankles because of all the nutswinging that goes on here.
