I have read that thread, thats what caused me to think about the shimming. I'm just not completely convinced that hat is the problem... and why would it need shimming in the first place? Because of motor mounts being worn out or something? I'm not convinced those guys REALLY know whats going on, they're just guessing.

Nevertheless, I will probably end up trying that.

Is this a common noise? Anyone here ever had it in a car? Ever fixed it? I'm really looking for personal experiences here.
