Perhaps you missed the same answer? I spend every waking moment on the Evo forums and I have *never* heard of anyone using a IX BOV on a X before. I've never seen a IX BOV on a commercial website being advertised as working on a X.

I'll let somebody else pay Shane by the hour to figure out if something is gonna work. Have you seen his rates?

Like I said, I don't think a mistake that either of us make is from lack of research. You can't research what doesn't exist. However I did know the 9 and 10 bov was the same, but I saw the thread from lsv66 whatever showing the awesome results from the one you got. I don't blame you for getting that one, looks promising. And now you have your stock one in case anything happens to that. You could sell the x bov too and make back some dough.

Scheides and Kracka are nice guys but ultimately they are just two more people on the Internet and I weigh what they say as much as I do input from anybody else.

I have seen his rates. As a matter of fact I have spent over 10k dollars there in the last 3 years

You won't find every answer on a forum either, I ask Shane and other people all kinds of stuff whenever I get the chance.

I agree with that but I've been told different things by mechanics at the local shops as well. There just are no 100% correct answers to anything which is why I have gone with proven stuff (on somebody else's dime) even if it costs more. Saving $150 on this BOV to burn an extra hour of Shane's time wouldn't save me any money.

Don't take this as an attack, but sometimes you have to think for yourself.

I have to make/buy a lot of custom stuff because even the universal/DSM specific type pieces don't fit that well.

Plus you can't rely on someone else to do all the hard work.

I have an idea, next time you are looking for something post it up here. I see a lot of people with nothing to do that could help you research but considering using the people here will let you have people that have seen everything worth seeing that Mitsu has built (I hope that made sense).

Again, not an attack just a suggestion. Of course there going to be things 100% specific to the X.

Enough of this BOV talk, when is your dyno time going to happen?

He doesn't have much experience working on cars so it is a little more difficult for him. It would probably be somewhere on the same level as you posting a windows 7 question and him responding by saying he has had to fix new bugs on windows 95 that haven't been figured out yet...

I did think for myself and I bought a Coto sports BOV. The mistake that I made was answering Dave's question about the price in public. From now on all of my stuff was either free or stolen.

Shane will have the car until he's done with it.

Re: Evo X upgrades

I don't think that price is bad. Evo X shit is pricey, I've come to terms with that, I just don't think DSM guys understand because they can't justify buying a part for their car for that much that isn't necessarily needed. It's much cheaper to mod DSMs and they need to realize you pay a premium for a newer cars mods. Which I'm sure they understand but choose to ignore

Of course its cheaper to modify a DSM; they're 20 years old! That doesn't mean a lot of the knowledge that was learned from DSM's, then transferred to the Evo 8/9, can't also be transferred to the Evo X. Parts for the X are no more expensive than they are for the VIII/IX; you may not have as big of a selection yet, but the prices aren't out of line at all. In fact, your stock-frame turbos are actually cheaper. If you also look at it, the parts for the X are pretty much just next generation parts that have evolved from whats already available for the VIII/IX; again, no reinventing the wheel here. It really seems like thus far the biggest hurdle has been getting ECUFlash to work properly, but even so the car has only been out since 2008 which is a pretty damn fast learning curve!
