Re: Evo X upgrades

I think a a set of black 17" RPF1's are the way to go.

What kind of power gains are you expecting to see from the cams and head work?

I'm changing a lot of stuff at once so I'll never know what the cams and head work did on their own (excepting the power gains above the stock rev limiter).

The dyno charts that I've seen have only shown modest gains from porting. Just about everything has been PPC now so the cumulative effect should certainly add some power. My main goal with the head is 9k rpms. I know for a fact that rpms will add power as long as the turbo is still breathing...evidence has shown the FP Red is still pulling at 8k so I have no reason to believe that the BBX will be out of breath before 9k.

There are a number of 1sts in this build so some questions won't be answered until Shane straps it down on the dyno.

Hey if you decide to drag it you'll be able to rev it out in 4th no problemo!

Yup, 9k will do that for sure

ETS with their setup which is similar to lomkers, different brands and the addition of engine bearings, and they take theirs up to 10k rpms

I think he could do 9500 even honestly, but i doubt he will be making power up there, who knows

I would do enough to get 4th in the quarter and only go more if it kept making power.

We will play it by ear on the dyno. If by some miracle it was still pulling at 9k then we can up it for a pull. The motor really should be good until the springs give out and I'm going with Cosworth dual springs this time...given the price they better be the shiznit.
